EFI&T - Engineer, Furnish, Install, and Test
NTSG provides a full portfolio of EFI&T services including, but not limited to the following:
-
Receive and Stage Equipment – Equipment and ancillary materials are received at NTSG’s facility where an inventory by site is compiled.
The equipment is racked and stacked to insure that all equipment and material are received and available, and that a correct configuration by site can be assembled.
All equipment is then powered-up to insure that all components are in working order. This step reduces the potential for defective equipment being shipped to the end
site location, and also provides the opportunity to pre-commission the equipment (e.g. Install IP Addresses, etc.).
-
Site Survey – A complete review of the environment, conditions, needs, and requirements at a site location
is performed. This includes space, power,
environment, grounding, assignments, etc. A site survey is essential and beneficial to help insure an optimal installation, test, and turn-up of the network node
and associated equipment.
-
Detailed Engineering – A complete and
detailed Engineering Design Package (EDP) is developed to
capture and reflect all aspects and attributes associated
with the installed solution.
-
Order Tracking / Materials Management – Orders are tracked such that at any time the progress and status of work activity may be readily
determined. Materials, including equipment are bar code scanned upon arrival at NTSG’s facility. They are inventoried and appropriately stored until such time as
the complete site requirement of equipment and materials is available for the staging of the site configuration.
-
Install – Trained, experienced, and certified installation technicians arrive at the end site location to receive the equipment which has
been shipped from NTSG’s facility. They assemble and install the equipment in racks or cabinets, make the required fiber connections and power-up the equipment.
They also appropriately “Dress” all fiber cables and label all connections, ports, and fiber jumpers.
-
Test and Turn-Up – Field Service Engineers perform the testing and turn-up of the site and associated equipment using state-of-the-art test
equipment and equipment / technology vendor procedures.
-
Customer Acceptance – Following each installation, NTSG dispatches a quality assurance inspector who performs an independent review of the
installed site and equipment to insure that the highest quality standards have been followed. Any discrepancy to standards is immediately addressed and remedied.
-
Engineering Documents – As previously referenced, a complete and detailed Engineering Design Package (EDP) is developed and published which
reflects all equipment and fiber assignments, channel mapping, height elevations, etc. for the installed site and associated equipment and ancillary materials.
-
Product Documents – Information and material documenting the equipment and materials employed is made available for reference and information
purposes.
